Sri Ananthanarayana Shastrigal

Designation: Pradhana Gurukkal

Studied Yajurveda from BramhasriRajagopala Bhat anchipuram, then did Krama Patham from Srinivasa Ganapadigal. He studied Ithihasa puranas, including Mahabharatam, Ramayana fromSengalipuram Rama Dikshitar, and Bramhasri Jaya Krishna Dikshitar. BramhasriVenkataramaDikshitar taught him Apasthmbhasutras . He is a practising Sri Vidya Upasakar after being initiated by Bramhasri Shukla Yajurvedi Hari Ghanapadigal.

He was part of the vedaparayanam team during Kanchi Maha Periyava’sKanakabhisegam. He has participated in a hundred days Chandi Homam at Skandashramam, Salem Tamilnadu. For 21 years, from 1996 to 2017, he practised Vaithikam with a team of 300 students.

He has been part of Murugan Koil, Nairobi, from its inception till date and has built its sanctity and Shakthi with his dedication and aacharam. Under his guidance &supervision, we did the Kumbabisegam of our temple when we moved to the current premises . His skills are exemplary in alangaram and decorations of the Lord. He is committed to spreading the knowledge of Vedas & has developed a team of over 50 students in Nairobi, Kenya, by teaching them Sukthams, Rudram Chamakam ,Saptashathi etc.

Sri Rama Sharan Shukla

Designation: Gurukkal

Studied Rig Veda Kramantham from Ma Devaki Veda Pathashala of the famed Yogi Ramasuratkumar institution in Thiruvannamalai , Tamil Nadu.

He has also done a Sanskrit diploma from Delhi University. He is from a pundit family in Priagraj, UP. He was serving at a Ganapathy temple in Srirangam before being called upon to serve at Sri Murugan Temple Nairobi since 2023.

Dr. Venkata Ramani

Designation: Founder and Permanent Advisor

A veteran Banker over 40 years and a long time resident of Nairobi has done distinguished service as chairman and committee member of many temples in Kenya including Ayyappa Seva Samaj.

He along with other founder members conceptualised the temple and brought it into reality in 2017. He has been a constant source of guidance and inspiration to the committee.

Sri Sekar Ramamoorthy

Designation: Chairman

He took charge of the current committee from July 2021 . A distinguished professional heading the UK based FMCG major Pz Cussons in kenya and Ghana . Committed to the social cause and spearhead the development of Nairobi Murugan koil.

Sri Saikumar Venkataraman

Designation: Vice Chairman

He joined the current committee from July 2021. A sales and Marketing professional currently consulting for couple of Companies including Japanese Global Vision Care company Hoya corporation for Sub Saharan Africa.

He supports the temple by handling day to day operations and supporting the chairman.

Sri Santhanaraja Pichandi

Designation: Secretary

He joined the current committee from July 2021. An established businessman with interests in printing and corporate events/exhibitions industries. He has actively supported in the temple management and in fund raising.

Mrs. Shanti Moorthy

Designation: Joint Secretary

She has been in the temple team since the first committee. An M.A in classical music and is a renowned teacher of music in Nairobi. She heads the cultural activities and leads a team of ladies who support in garland making and also cooking Maharasadam for hundreds of devotees during all major events. She is an entrepreneur running a well known restaurant in Nairobi called Hungers Nest.

Mrs. Selvi Ramesh

Designation: Treasurer

She joined the current committee in July 2021. She supports the temple by maintaining accounts and supporting audits and fulfilling statutory obligations required as an organisationin Kenya. She enjoys doing seva to temple. She Works as an accountant in trading company.

Srikanth Sreenivasan

Designation: Temple Project Lead

He Joined the team in July 2021. A multifaceted personality representing many organisations and active member of sport teams, heads MOL logistics in the region. Besides actively supporting the temple activities is spearheading the fund raising campaign of the temple project.

Raja llangovan

Designation: Co Founder and Committee Member

He was one of the 5 members who joined the Founder Mr Venkataramani and ordered Murugan Idol in 2016. Since then continuing as committee member. An Engineer and currently Operations Director of German based Kenyan company doing thermal power plants in East and central Africa and Seychelles.

Mrs. Suganthi Sudhakar

Designation: Committee Member

She joined the current committee from June 2022. She supports the temple seva in garlands making and mahaprasadham cooking teams. She worked as a Project Manager in a reputed e-publishing company and now enjoys in serving the community.

Purushothaman Balakrishnan

Designation: Committee Member

Since June 2022, Purushothaman Balakrishnan has been an active member of the committee. He supports the temple administration and oversees security activities, assisting the team with temple functions and related tasks. In his professional capacity, he serves as the General Manager at Deluxe Inks Ltd.

Mrs. Bhavani Bai Sudhakar

Designation: Committee Member

Joined the committee in July 2022. She was able to support other members during all major Festivals and Puja’s performed at the Temple. Was been a part of the Garlands group, Cooking group, and volunteer for cleaning the Temple premises team. She worked as a primary teacher.
